The Texas Glass Association (TGA) hosted its Texas Glass Conference 2024, May 16-17, welcoming about 155 people to the Austin, Texas, area. The Conference consisted of eight sessions spanning topics such as energy-efficient glass, industry trends, pre-fabrication and more.
Glass industry leaders, including NGA consultant Max Perilstein, presented on the history and future of energy-efficient glass, trends in specialty glazing, as well as the opportunities and challenges of prefabrication.
Melanie Dettmer, NGA business development manager, and Rachel Vitello, Glass Magazine assistant editor, also attended the event.
Greg Oehlers, executive director of architectural sales for TriStar Glass, hosted a session on the past, present and future of energy-efficient glass. A panel consisting of Brian Griffis, vice president of sales, Marc Angelillo, director of architectural systems, and Carlos Trevino, project manager, of Gate Precast Co., discussed the future of pre-fabrication and how it’s evolved over the years.
Another panel made up of project executive Jay Langston, developer Adam Soto and architect James Adams talked about the different perspectives of building from a general contractor, developer and architect.
