On February 24, NGA President & CEO Nicole Harris joined NGA members Ron Crowl, managing director of FeneTech, and Syndi Sim, VP of marketing and business development for Diamon-Fusion International, for a conversation on Glass Processing Automation Days (GPAD) 2022, keys to success in today's industry, and the value of participating in the event. The theme of GPAD 2022 is "Futureproofing Glass Fabrication.” FeneTech is recognized as a Founding Partner of GPAD; NGA took over as organizer in 2019.
Conversation highlights include:
What is GPAD?
The first GPAD was held in 2011 and was founded to create a forum to talk about automation, machinery and integration of software to make an efficient manufacturing facility. It’s an opportunity for glass fabricators and suppliers to come together in an intimate setting to have good, detailed discussions they can’t have at larger events. This still holds true today—GPAD is a place to find solutions, build lasting relationships with peers and suppliers, and have some fun along the way.
What are keys to success in today's glass fabricating industry?
- Strong leadership to champion and deliver on company mission and goals
- Building relationships with customers to work through challenges and ensure deliverables
- Having systems in place to ensure repeatable work practices
- Building quality and inspection throughout the production and delivery process
How does GPAD contribute to achieving these goals?
- Networking and sharing with industry peers in an intimate environment
- Learning about new and future machinery, software, automation and best practices
- Initiating new industry relationships and reinforcing existing ones
- GPAD attendees will be able to come together with their glazing contractor customers attending NGA’s BEC Conference for a half-day of solution sharing that bridges the time between the two events on March 29.
