Technical Glass Products (TGP), a brand of Allegion, hosted a MFG Day celebration on Oct. 7 for Seattle-area students at its Snoqualmie, Washington operations.

MFG Day is hosted annually on the first Friday in October by the Manufacturing Institute, the 501(c)3 nonprofit workforce development and education partner of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).

During Allegion's 2022 TGP MFG Day celebration, students from a local area high school had conversations with TGP’s plant leadership team, learned about the different career paths in manufacturing and got a behind-the-scenes tour of TGP’s manufacturing facility.

U.S. Congresswoman Kim Schrier and King County Outreach Director Megan Utemei (on behalf of U.S. Senator Patty Murray) were also in attendance.

“Our goal is simple – to inspire the next generation of manufacturers,” said Jamie Holpuch, Allegion communications manager. “We want to give students an inside look at how they can develop the skills needed to qualify for long-term careers in the essential and exciting manufacturing industry.”

Allegion has participated in MFG Day since 2015 and has hosted 3,000+ students, teachers and community officials across locations in: Indiana; Ohio; Kansas; Tennessee; Colorado; Washington; Illinois; and California.
