NGA joins fellow associations in a call for action, to speak out against injustice
The National Glass Association (NGA) shares the deep concern of many Americans about the events in Minneapolis and across the country.
We grieve together at the horrifying death of George Floyd. And, we do not condone violence or destruction of public or private property. We must not allow the unlawful actions of a few to overtake the vital conversation and examination about entrenched inequality and its impact on society, our companies, and our country.
As NGA member companies join “the front line” to board up buildings and replace broken glass entrances and windows, it is with awareness that the glass and glazing industry is made up of people of all backgrounds, races, and origins. Diversity in the workplace is a well-documented strength of growing American businesses.
As a member of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), NGA supports the following statements: “Timmons: Now is Not the Time to Wait for Action from Others” If we fail, America will not endure” and “Racial Injustice in America.”
