What products and services does your company offer?
We provide commercial, industrial, civil and residential painting and glazing. Our glass and glazing services include glass and hardware repair, storefront and curtain wall installation, custom glass design, aluminum extrusions, door applications, and metal panel systems.
What are your company's keys to success?
- Hiring people that compliment your weaknesses.
- Be well versed in ALL aspects of your business. Yes, that includes understanding the accounting.
- Don’t be afraid to fire people who aren’t right for your business.
- Share the wealth with your employees, without them you are nothing.
- Respect your customers but don’t let them rule you.
What’s something your company does that sets you apart from others, or that has been helpful to the way you do business/your bottom line?
Coming from the General Contracting world and hiring many glazing companies over those years, my experience was that glaziers never came back to finish incomplete work or to fix bad work. I have made it a point to make sure all projects are completed and done correctly.
Why did you join NGA?
Honestly, I thought about joining for years, but never did because it just felt like another membership to pay for. We started an apprenticeship program, and the NGA was a great source for that, so I decided to return the favor.
What is a big project or accomplishment for your company?
We completed a large 4-sided, structural silicone glazed curtainwall in Orange City, IA
